Postal Order Charges. passatrider Posts: 838 Forumite. 10 November 2011 at 2:30PM. I enquired about buying a £45 postal order yesterday at my local post office and was shocked at the cost. They want £5.65 extra for the cost of processing fees. Is it just me or is this a bit extreme?:

Can i put this in my back account? i never get chance to get to a post office but my bank (HSBC) has a branch where i can pay cheques in through the machine til 10pm. Hope someone can help.

22 June 2007 at 11:40PM. You can get a US Dollar money order from Barclays - the last one I heard of cost £12. The best and cheapest way to send money to the US is to buy the Dollars from the Post Office and send the cash by Registered Insured Mail to the States, which has to be signed for - Airsure.

Go to the post office, tell them how much you need a postal money order for, they print it up, you pay them (there is a small fee on top) and then you take the postal money order away. You fill in the name of the person you want to be able to cash it (just like a cheque, there is a line of it for that.

Join Date: February 2004. Posts: 6085. The Payee is the person you are sending the Postal Order to - it's their name you put after Pay on line 2. They will sign the postal order on the back when they cash it in their post office. You don't have to fill in anything else. #3 07-07-2020 7:43pm.
